Writing Your Vows:
What's Your Love Story?

Everyone loves to hear about how two people fell in love. How, where and when did your love story begin? Keep it short and sweet, but make sure to include any cute, funny or unique details!

What’s your relationship style?
Your vows are a reflection of your relationship. Let them be romantic, funny, or a combination of the two- just like what the best marriages are made of.

What do you love?
Include your favorite things about your financé and all the things that you love about them. Speak from your heart and don’t be afraid to share your feelings. Just be careful not to get too personal!

What do you promise?
Your vows, after all, are your promises to your loved one. This is your chance to express how you feel in front of your closest family and friends. Here are a few thoughts to get you started:

Vow to…

  • support them in pursuing their passions
  • show them you love them each and every day
  • be by their side in good times and in bad
  • always be honest and true

Once you’ve made your vows, there’s lots of different ways you can memorialize them. These words hold so much meaning to you and serve as a beautiful reminder of your wedding day and the promises you made to each other. These are just a couple of options I Do Custom Weddings can offer you:

Calligraphy Art
Choose your favorite few lines from your vows and let I Do hand letter calligraphy that you can frame and hang. It’s a custom piece of art you’ll cherish forever.

We can design beautiful labels printed with your vows on them. Place on wine bottles from your wedding, candles, jars, vases or anything else you can think of!

If you can dream it, odds are, we can custom create it for you! Contact us with questions or to set up your local consultation at our downtown Easton, PA office.

Make A List, Check it Again & Again

Creating your wedding guest list can be one of the most stressful parts of planning your wedding. Odds are, it will take a few rounds of edits and cuts before you get it just right! There’s a few general rules to follow, but first and foremost, make these two decisions.

Decision 1: Budget
Your budget is a huge factor when deciding how many guests you can invite. A larger guest list will affect the venues you can choose from, and will significantly increase the cost of food and drink.

Splitting up the list between you and your fiancés guests can be complicated, especially if both parties’ families are contributing financially to the wedding. A general rule of thumb is the couple chooses half the guests, and the remaining half is spit equally between both sets of parents/families.

Decision 2: Wedding Size & Style
Some brides want a huge bash, while others prefer a more intimate affair. Which type of wedding sounds better to you? That’s the first and most obvious decision you’ll need to make before sitting down and creating your guest list. A typical “small” wedding has somewhere around 75 people or less.

Thinking really small is best? "Micro weddings" are a new trend that work well for people who have extravagant taste, but a conservative budget! To be considered "micro", the guest list is around 20 people or less. This allows you to go bigger and better on venue, food and decor. It’s a great option if you only want THE most important people in your life to attend your nuptials!

Get listing
When creating your initial list, start big. Extended family, old college friends you haven’t seen in a while, etc. Then, start cutting down. An “A” list and a “B” list is a good tactic to try! It might be obvious, but the A list are close family, friends, and anyone else that you can't imagine getting married without. The B list are people who you also want at your wedding, but space / destination/ budget may not allow it. When A list people send their regrets, you then choose from the top of the B list and work your way down. Just make sure you’re giving those guests enough time. If it’s less than 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding, don’t do it!

Another choice that must be made is whether or not you will allow children to attend the wedding. The choice is completely up to you and your fiancé! Either way, be sure to be specific and clear on your invitations as to who exactly is invited. This will help avoid any confusion, awkwardness or hurt feelings later on.

Once your final list is made, it’s time to send out your Save the Dates! That’s where we come in. Let us design and print you a Save the date that will get all your guests excited for your wedding! Contact us to get started.

Pantone Color of the Year

How to incorporate PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral into your Wedding

Each January, The Pantone Color Institute chooses a color that captures the spirit of the upcoming year. For 2019, the color was inspired by the bright, underwater ecosystem. "Living Coral" is a gorgeously vibrant, bright, orangey-pink hue. Featuring warm gold undertones, Pantone chose it for it’s energizing quality. Whether you see this color on a screen or printed on paper, it's like a breath of fresh air.

"Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this particularly true for Living Coral."
-Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute

We're so excited to see how couples will choose to incorporate this incredible color into their wedding. The options are endless! "Living Coral" would be an amazing addition to a variety of different color schemes. Whether it's used as a primary color or just as an accent, these are a few of our favorites:

• Living Coral + Navy Blue + Taupe
• Living Coral + Teal + Sky Blue + White
• Living Coral + Lime + Fuchsia + Gold
• Living Coral + Rose Pink + Buttercream Yellow + Deep Gray

We'd love to see these color schemes on invites and signage, in floral arrangements, table settings and centerpieces and in bridal party attire. Especially for Spring and Summer weddings, Living Coral will make the perfect addition to liven up the overall look of your wedding.

2019 Wedding Trends

Your wedding is the chance to put together a vision all your own. It should express your unique style and show off what inspires you. Will you follow the trends or set your own? The choice is yours! Here’s a few of the hottest trends this year.

Natural Elements
a trend that’s been growing over the last couple of years is really picking up speed in 2019 - bringing elements of nature into your wedding decorating. Whether the motif is rustic, vintage or more modern, adding greenery to your design scheme is a trend we see standing the test of time. Wood, leaves, branches and greenery with minimalistic floral touches make for gorgeous invitations and design elements for menus, table cards, signage and more.

Mix & Match
If there’s just one rule we believe in, it’s that your wedding is all about you and your personal style. There are no rules! Mixing and matching colors, styles and patterns can create an unforgettable look all your own. This is true for your invitations, table place settings and more. Contrasting fonts, hues and prints often create a look that really pops!

Bold Color Schemes
Sometimes, there’s nothing prettier than a soft, pale color palette for a wedding. But for brides and grooms who prefer to make a bolder statement, this next 2019 trend is for you. Brighter, deeper colors are going to be big this wedding season. Think jewel tones like emerald, sapphire, garnet and other bold colors. But, don’t worry if your style is more muted- gorgeous pastel schemes will never go out of style.

Ocean & Coastal Style
Another trend making waves this year is sea-inspired color schemes. Whether it’s navy blue, teal, cerulean or antique gray-blue, it’s gorgeous with pops of sage, white and coral. The best thing about this trend is that there’s so many different ways to bring it to life. When you’re custom creating invitations and printed items, sky’s the limit.

I Do Custom Weddings is here to make sure your invites and printed materials tie it all together beautifully. Your personal style combined with our design expertise – it’s a match made in heaven.
